3D Ultrasound:

 

13 Weeks 3D ultrasound.

 

 

20 weeks 3D ultrasound.

 

 

23 weeks 3D ultrasound.

 

 

24 weeks 3D ultrasound.

 

 

 

26 weeks 3D ultrasound

 

 

Gender determination by 3D ultrasound.  Much clearer than in 2D.  However, the limitations of the 2D ultrasound still applies here.  If the legs are crossed, for example, gender determination will be difficult in either 2D or 3D.

Still picture of a 32 week baby's lips.  3D ultrasound is useful in this situation where mom had a previous child with a cleft lip.  In most situation, the ultrasonographer can easily use the 2D ultrasound to diagnose a recurrence of the malformation.  However, those images are difficult for the lay person to interpret.  This 3D image  is sufficient reassurance for this patient.
