Cuong M. Nguyen, M.D.
Dr. Cuong Nguyen was trained at the University of Texas in the Houston Medical Center receiving honors in developmental biology and gynecology. He did his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UNM in Albuquerque. Among his awards there were the Best Resident Teacher Award and the prestigious Special Excellence in Endoscopy award by the American Society of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the Harris County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association. He has been in private practice in the Houston area for the last thirteen years, and has helped to deliver over three thousand babies. His special interest is in the application of computer science and ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology. His extracurricular activities include marathons, triathlons, and biking. You can catch him early before work on most days on his bike or on training runs around his neighborhood.
Anh T. Nguyen, M.D.
Dr. Anh Nguyen received her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Mississippi. She did her internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Her fellowship in infectious diseases was completed at the University of California at Irvine. She is a graduate of the Gorgas Course in Clinical Tropical Medicine in Peru, S.A. She is board certified both in internal medicine and in infectious diseases.
Joseph Reginald Perez, M.D.
Dr. Perez received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Texas at Houston and his residency at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. His fellowship in asthma, allergies, and immunology was completed at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Perez has published in the prestigious medical journals Nature Medicine, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Dr. Perez is especially mindful of the needs of his allergic patients. He has learned to deal with the complexities of these diseases not only from his professional training and patient interaction but also from his daily experience. His interest in this field stems from his own personal affliction with asthma and allergic rhinitis, as well as his children's problem with food allergies and eczema. He is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the Harris County Medical Society.
Mary Gonzalez, M.A.
Mary received her medical assistant training at the National Center for Competency. She has been working with Dr. Nguyen for the last twelve years.
Elsa Barragan, M.A.
Elsa is a graduate of the Texas School of Business. She joined the staff after finishing her externship here at the Sugarland Women's Health Center in 2003.
